My loyal Subjects….I love you all…

Well it is now less than 48 hours till we are on our way to Shanghai and then to Chongqing to pick up the lovely rogue regent Miss Lily Chun-Xing. I am not quite sure what I am feeling. It is really hard to pinpoint the emotion. I am happy that this journey is finally at a pinnacle point. I am ecstatic that I am actually going to be Lily’s mother, I am sad that Monday will be a heart wrenching time for Lily. I am scared that I am not up to the task of motherhood. I am worried I won’t do what is required….all of the above emotions are swirling around within me and that just makes me plain exhausted!!

I hope you will all stay with me over the next few weeks. I am not sure what the Internet connection will be like in China but I do hope to post something while there. I mean the plan is to post something daily and ultimately with pictures but I do acknowledge that maybe harder than it sounds. Anyway please check back and hopefully you will see some great ‘in the moment’ photo’s of us with Lily and some wonderful sights of China.

Those who know what I am like please PRAY for me to be calm and collected throughout. Because as Petie knows we don’t want me freaking out, tripping over and knocking myself unconscious!! (Ask Pete he’ll explain)

So the bags are now packed and sitting in the doorway. I have packed and repacked them. I have been up in the middle of the night to satisfy my curiosity that yes that certain thing is packed where I thought I packed it.

So just quickly I wanted to say thankyou to all my friends and family who have supported us over the past 15 years. Our Dream not only lives but I think she has a dimple or two!

So with little more to say until the lovely Lily is in our arms I will love you and leave you with this fine sentiment:

Who travels for love finds a thousand miles not longer than one.

Personally… I am doing the “proverbial” in my pants!
but when all is said and done… it is God that works in us both to choose and to perform according to his good pleasure (Phil 2:13) so we step forward not knowing what tomorrow brings but with every confidence that God’s providence will prevail. As he has provided us with a daughter and provided Lily Chunxing with a family so he will continue to provide for us together. And somehow, though we may not be the most perfect of parents, we will make a go of this and we will love Lily, and best of all, we will be a family.
    Yeeehaaa!!!
    We’re on our way!!!

So very well said my dear son,You will be excellent parents. After all what else could you expect with the mother you have?
No seriously, I’m sure that all will be good and you will make a great job as parents.
Just make sure that you have some spare pants on hand.
It has to be one of the most fulfilling times of your lives and yes our gracious God will be there guiding you both all of the way.
Lily Chung Xing is one very lucky to be coming into your lives and your family,as well as the rest of us.
Try very hard to get a good rest tonight as the next few days are going to be rather hectic!!!
My love, thoughts and prayers go with you both tomorrow a nd will always be with you.
As far as the upheaval that Lily is to experience on Monday and for a while until she is home and settled, she will adjust much better than you probably believe and just knowing and feeling the love that surrounds her will see her through.
    Love you heaps,Mum

Well, you are both now in the aeroplane on your way to China to pick up your precious little girl…..I wonder how you are doing? We love you both so much and we can’t wait to meet Lily. Natarsha & Victoria saw an aeroplane this morning and waved to Uncle Albert & Aunty Rachel and asked when they would see Lily…..soon!!! Praise God, our prayers are with you.
