One in the Bed

We are having some problems with the Rogue Regent in geting her to asleep at night. When we first came home from China sleeping was not a big issue. Now it seems to be THE issue.

I thnk it gets harder when you as the parents are not getting any quality sleep either. You end up getting cranky and smippy with each other and then impatient with the cause of the ‘lack of sleep’, your darling sweet one who you could hand back on such occasions. It’s awful because the moment you have these thoughts you feel terrible and then you get upset and then the situation tends to spiral out of control. All because of a lack of a few z’ssss.

Anyway we are working on it and have tried to rearrange a few things in RR’s room so that she will like to sleep in there.

So far not much luck but we are continuing on.

It might be the book…Where the Wild Things Are almost always gave me a hard time sleeping (don’t ask…I didn’t seem to grasp the moral) lol, just thought I’d throw that out there. love you all!

Ughh, sleeplessness. I wish I could offer you advice on how to solve the problem, but I can’t. I can only offer sympathy. I truly believe that sleeplessness is the biggest stress new parents face. When we came home with our Jill, it was the most difficult period I’ve had as a parent to date. It took a couple of months but things got better. She still doesn’t sleep through the night, but it’s so much better than it was. There are lots of books out there; maybe they can offer some helpful strategies.

Wishing you luck and many sleep filled nights in the new year to come!

Well, well, well, looks like Lily is more and more like her dad every day!

No seriously, Albert ,you did the same thing,as do lots of children of Lily’s age.

If she is dry,warm/cool enough, doesen’t need a drink or a dry biscuit she will get over it……….in time!

Hope 2008 brings some sleep filled nights for all concerned and don’t worry tooooooooo much about the guilt feelings when you get cranky, you will look back on this all in years to come and wonder why you worried so much.

Also you can look forward to the future with your own grandkids and have a quiet laugh to yourself and a cheer and say” well now you know what we went through for you”. I promise that is the fun part!!!!!!

    Love you all heaps,

p.s. another solution………….Lily could always come and experience life in NQ with her loving NaiNai for a while so mum and dad can catch up their sleep………………………….
