Little bird venturing from the nest

Well today was a really hard day for me. It was RR’s first day at Daycare. She was there from 10am until 4pm and it felt like an eternity. I have always been so completely anti daycare so to turn around and actually enrol her was really difficult for me.

I don’t go back to work until Feb but am sending RR one day a week until then just to get her familiar with the routine.

This morning we packed her little bag and off we went for her first day.

She was fine and quickly ran out to play with the other kids. I however was a wreck! Had myself a big cry and asked myself for the 1000th time if I was doing the right thing.

Went with Dad to collect her and we stood in the playground for over 5 minutes. She did not even realise we were there. She was busy climbing and sliding on the play-gym. In the end I yelled out “Lily” she saw us and came running.

Toddlers are so cute when they run and Lily is no exception. It was a lovely feeling to wrap her in a hug. She was in a good mood and very chatty. So it appears the first day out of the nest for this little birdy was a success.

I can wholly relate to how you felt,as would each and every mum & dad who have ever had to leave their child for any reason. It’s probably a bigger step for the parents than the kids.

If Lily is happy when you go to get her that is a good sign. She would miss you but is happy with the situation she is in. Having other kids to play with is really good for her and you will expand your group of friends as well.

    Take care,love you all,
